Wedding hassle

These wedding preparations are really getting on my nerves! There are so much (and I mean MUCH not many - they are literally uncountable!) traditions to adhere to. I feel like it's our families/parents that are getting married and not us. Why can't they just leave it and leave us alone?! Just a simple wedding, a simple dinner, and that's it - FULL STOP. Do we really have that much of $$$ to splurge? Even so, I rather spend it on the honeymoon trip!
I can't help be reminded of the case study I did back in sociology class - in one of the tribal areas, the family had to throw a lavished "ceremony" for the death of a loved one. It was macham like a big event, man. The poor family is also mourning, and they have to spend a bomb on entertaining the guests?! Can't the guests be reasonable and understanding?!
It's the same for this stupid wedding. Everybody has their own ideas and tries to impose their ideas on everything we are doing. It is not just us two with ideas, but a whole load of people! Here I am, trying to cope with study, work, church, and all these planning and what not, and every week, somebody somewhere has something to add. And this JY, feels like he's not doing anything... spends his day going out with his friends, claims is his way of relieving stress... sigh, recently he's got "addicted" with this friend of his - Jairus - always together... I wish he'll help to get things done...

There are so many silly things to buy from my side... stupid...

First, there's the tea set for tea ceremony for his family. I wonder can use mine at Ah ma's?

Then he'll have to bring a basket of oranges over of which we'll have to return half.
By right, we will need some cakes as well.

But as usual, my mother insisted not having any which I don't really mind or care at all.

Thank goodness, I don't need a pig. Comparing me with a pig for my virginity? That's an insult man!

And of course, who wants gold these days? Doesn't match my diamonds at all!

These are also requested from us. Such a bother!

Should have married an Ang Moh, so much easier - like Xia Xue. Throw a nice alfresco dinner at a lounge or something, how romantic....
And can forget about all these stupid traditions...
